Our Mission
KAHU is building a real-time maritime awareness platform by crowdsourcing and fusing onboard radar detections from vessels. Unlike AIS, which can be turned off or altered, radar provides continuous, ground-truth detection, contributing to a clearer and more consistent picture of vessel activity and supporting maritime domain awareness.
Our containerized onboard software processes radar data locally and sends compact detection metadata to the cloud. It runs on existing vessel systems and works over available connectivity, enabling scalable deployment without new hardware. This creates a scalable shared data layer that supports safety, efficiency, and protection of ocean life.
